Halliday Meecham Architects, in collaboration Dwelle, engaged in extensive consultation with residents and stakeholders to develop the design.
The project team delivered a new insulated facade and new windows to all blocks. An array of photovoltaic panels, new central heating system and Europe’s tallest living green wall—the equivalent of five mature trees—were also included in the design.
External spaces were re-designed and provided an outdoor gym for residents and allotments made from recycled roof cladding.
Halliday Meecham Architects and Dwelle were winners in the Large Scale Residential and Sustainability categories at the MSA Design Awards in 2014.
