Chemistry Building 6th Floor

Halliday Meecham Architects have extensive experience in the higher education sector and have long lasting client relationships with The University of Liverpool, the University of Salford and Keele University.

The practice have worked with The University of Manchester for 20 years and have been involved in the design and delivery of over 180 projects to date.

Building on this experience the practice were commissioned to lead the complex refurbishment of the 6th floor of the Chemistry Building on Upper Brook Street which houses teaching, research and support facilities for the School of Chemistry, one of the largest schools in the UK. The finished scheme provided a range of specialist laboratories and associated fume cupboards, write up spaces and offices.

The 6th floor is the enabling phase of a wider refurbishment of the School of Chemistry and to this end the project team installed six large laboratory fans on the roof which will eventually service the whole school.
